{"id":13558,"date":"2019-02-26T17:21:49","date_gmt":"2019-02-26T15:21:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wascalu.rintio.com\/?p=13558"},"modified":"2019-03-12T12:39:57","modified_gmt":"2019-03-12T10:39:57","slug":"fusce-tincidunt-augue-2-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wascal-uac.org\/?p=13558","title":{"rendered":"IMPROVEMENT AND COMPARATIVE ASSESSMENT OF A NEW HYDROLOGICAL MODELLING APPROACH"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Author : \u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">GABA Olay\u00e8mi Ursula Charl\u00e8ne<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The objective of this work is to understand how the natural dynamics of a time-varying catchment, i.e. the rainfall pattern, transforms the random component of rainfall and how this transformation influences the river discharge.\u00a0<span lang=\"en-GB\">The thesis presents new<\/span><span lang=\"en-GB\">\u00a0hypotheses to go further in the development of the model\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-GB\">based on the Physics Principle of Least Action<\/span><span lang=\"en-GB\">\u00a0with a view of widening its application<\/span><span lang=\"en-GB\">\u00a0in Africa and in the USA. Its performance was compared to two well-known lumped conceptual models, the GR4J and HBV models. The analysis revealed that the three models have similar performance and timing errors. But in contrary to other models used in this study, MODHYMA is subject to a less loss of performance from calibration to validation.
