This study aimed to analyses the future impacts of climate change, Land use land cover (LULC) change, and altered water resource management on the water availability and hydropower potential (HPP) in the Bafing watershed, located in the Senegal River Basin in West Africa. The study considered the existing dam (Manantali) and the future dams (Koukoutamba). The results showed that the change in flow and HPP is an effect of climate change rather than LULC change. The flow and the HPP are expected to decrease in the future except in 2050 under ssp 126. The construction of future dams will have many advantages, but an adaptation strategy to adjust the operation of these three dams and to cope with the effects of climate change, LULC will be essential.
