This study quantified seawater intrusion within the multilayered aquifer system of the Agoènyivé Plateau (Sedimentary Coastal Basin of Togo) under climate change, land use and land cover (LULC) change, and increased groundwater withdrawal. The integrated hydrogeochemical and geophysical analyses revealed both lateral seawater encroachment (extending approximately 2.5 km inland) and upconing, with the freshwater-saltwater transition zone estimated at a mean depth of 21 m. The calibrated SEAWAT model projected progressive salinization under the combined scenario (D), with the spatial extent of the intruded zone anticipated to increase by 2.2% (2030) and 3.1% (2050) relative to baseline conditions (2021).
